I noticed in the düde resource that it has the option of setting a mission bit under each ship slot, does this mean that if I use it, can it save me alot of time by not having to create more s˙st and spöb resources just to have a particular ship show or not show up?

If you're talking about EV Override 1.0.2, then yes, that is the case.

Take a look at the original game. Note how Miranu traders show up in Federation systems after you have completed the "Open Miranu to trade" mission. That was all done with mission bits in the associated dudes.
I am using the same function in my TC to "ramp up" the war through various steps; small raiders, then boarder clashes, then proper battles, finally "Midway" size fleet engagements.

Wasn't that done with përs resouces using Miranu freighters? Or was that another contribution after the open trade missions?

Y'know, it might be both. I checked the dudes...I'd forgotten about all the pers that also are mission-triggered.
