I tried to make a weapon which first fired something that looked like it was charging up, then I added a submunition as the real weapon. The main weapon was a beam weapon, so i wonder, can beams be submunitions? Also, what is the Sub Theta in the weapon editor?
By the way, Masca, why couldnt you answear my question and then lock the topic.

Beam weapons cannot have submunitions. SubTheta is the angular error of the submunition in relation to its parent shot; it works the same way as Inaccuracy.

Also, beams should not be submunitions shots. According to the Holy Bible of EV Nova, bad things will happen if you set a beam as a submunition.

It'll look a hell of a lot better if you use extra frames in the ship's sprite and check the "unfolds to fire" flag in the shän resource. Downside to this is that all weapons well now make the ship use it's charging up sequence.
Just my 2 cents...

Isn't there a bit that you can set (either in the weap or ship resource, I can't remember), that says whether the weapon causes the "unfolds to fire" frames?

Well, there's a flag in the wëap resource called "use's ships weapon sprite", but that refers to the ship's weapon glow layer...
The only flag I see that refers to unfolding, is the one in the shän resource.

The main reason was that I wasn't confident that I properly knew the answer.
Please spell my name right - it's only 5 letters.

Ah. Thanks, I couldn't remember.
Bad news that is..... I tried to make the weapon charge up before firing, but I see it doesnt work, Il have to seek a way around it.
