angled simply can not be done properly in EV/O. hopefully EV3 will be able to handle angled views properly.

As one who has played Nova with the angled view, I can say that even with the old graphics the angled view worked well. Bomb will probally back me up here. So I go angled. Course this whole arguement is useless anyway, there is no, zip, zero, natto chance that you will get Atmos to redo all their redone images just to made it top down view. The angle isn't extreme and it will work well. Wait and try it you may be surprised.

He's talking about the Nova plug-in (I think), which eventually became EVN, the new game. Dragon was one of the Nova beta testers, correct?

My decision is maybe, and that's final!

I'd have to vote top down , or so very slightly angled that they don't look out of place with starfield motion and weapon fire angles.

I have made angled sprites in the past. Some designs of ship really need to be seen on an angle; I made a TIE fighter once, and from top-down it just looked like an 'H' shape spinning to and fro. With a little angle, it looked much more like what it was supposed to be. But since I'm free to design ships my own way nowadays, I just avoid ships with a lot of plain vertical edges, and they come out okay. Top down rules!
