Looking for beta testers for an upcoming plug-in involving the Utian Village. Testers must meet the following criteria:
Be willing to look for typos, errors, and bugs that may do things like crash the game and/or your computer(bwahaha). This is beta testing which means you will be bug hunting.
Have a connection decent enough that you do not mind downloading updates as they become available. The latest compile(which is not ready for beta yet) is approx. 10.8MB in size, stuffed. (As a short side note, Spells Expander had 9 betas and 5 final candidates)
Be willing to correspond with myself and other members of the beta team in order to coordinate bug hunting and testing.
I am looking for a small number of individuals willing to do testing for this plug-in. Those interested should send me an email at stark@evula.net letting me know your interest. Board posts will not be considered an "application," so if you post in this thread(which you are free to do) but do not email me then you will not be selected for the team.
I am estimating that beta testing will begin within 1-2 weeks for this plugin.

Btw, I only mentioned a decent connection due to the current size of the plug-in, and what I expect it will be before it is finished. If anyone is interested that has a less than steller connection(read: dial-up), it is fine that you apply. It will just mean that it will obviously take you longer to download the updates as they become available. But if you don't mind dwnloading 10+ MB files, I don't mind.
As one last side note, when you apply would you please put your webboard username, if any, on it?

Well, I already replied to your email (it was sent to your honda account), just thought I'd better say something here too. Also, I'm curious, will you be e-mailing out betas again or does your website have enough space that you're going to put them up there?

I'll be making the betas available via ftp, as most emailers will go into apoplectic meltdown over a 10+ MB file. hehe.
Also, on the ftp server I can monitor the downloads so I know when you guys manage to get the files. I didn't like so much sending the updates for SE out via email as I never could tell just when the files were received and downloaded. I'm inquisitive.
Stark, do you want a seperate board (url="http://"http://forums.evula.com/")here(/url) for beta testing of your plugins? Could be kind of handy, but you may want to keep it email-based. shrug Just thought I'd offer it.

If you can make it so that only members invited to the forum can read and post, sure.
I'd rather beta test discussions remain private. So if your forums allow for this, sure. It would be nice to have a decent archival system(ie. board posts), rather than having to sift through past emails. But, if not, then e-mail works too.

Yeah, it's easy; I'll make you the group's moderator, then you can invite people as they join (or kick them out, for that matter), and I'll restrict access to that group only. I can even make it so that you can't even see the board if you're not a member (there are 5 private boards there now that, unless you're a member of a particular group, you can't see).
