After spending the better part of a day experimenting with my new plug-in i discovered that fighters cannot be harmed by their own weapons blast radius , is there a way around this
on another note the -999 ammo type on weapons that is supposed to destroy the ship ... does this just work on player ships or will AI ships be destroyed using the weapon too , my early experiments show me that the AI ship just disables itself and becomes untargetable
anyhelp or suggestions are welcome

If I'm not mistaken, AI ships will not use weapons that are set to destroy the ship.

...unless you set their AIType to -1, of course.

even with AI set to -1 they are unwilling to use a weapon with ammo type set to -999 , too much self preservation i guess :frown:

Try to download "Intelligent EMP Torpedo" from the addons page, the intelligent EMP Torpedo ship fires a weapon with an AmmoType of -999 when it is close enough to its target.
