Making an EVN ship

I've tried making a ship in EV Nova but the ship doesn't show up on the screen. It will accelerate, but not turn. I'm using spins, shans, and PICTs. If someone can help me, I could send you an alpha.

I'm trying to make a plug-in out of the movie "The Last Starfighter." I haven't been able to test out Death Blossom yet, because the Gunstar is ahem not working very well.

You mean that the turning sprites don't show up?
Or that the ship will not turn?

If it doesn't turn then increase the manvr field (in the shďp resource) to 5.

If the turning sprites aren't displaying then you should check the "Extra Frames Are Banking" flag in the shän resource.

I know what you mean, the same thing happened to me. But some how, by tinkering with the shans, I was able to get it to work correct. Hope that I am leading you in the right direction.

It's possible that you got the "BaseSetCount" and the "FramesPerSet" fields mixed up. The "FramesPerSet" field should be set to the number of frames that it takes the ship to turn 350 degrees (usually 36 frames), and the "BaseSetCount" says how many 36 frame sets there are (3 for banking sprites: flat, banking left, and banking right).

Oh, and why did you say that you're using spins and shans? Spins have absolutely nothing to do with ship sprites.

As for your pict sprites, I'd suggest using EnRLE. It'll make it easier for Nova to deal with your sprites.

Send me an alpha, I'll take a look at at. (what_is_the_matrix@techie.com).
