In a plug for Nova I am working on, I can not get any of the planets to let me attack their defense fleets, even if the planet already hates me, I have a deadly combat rating, and I have the most powerful ship in the game. I am guessing I am missing some fundemental aspect of how planet domination works that did not exist in the other versions of EV. Also I can not get guided weapons to fire simultaniously like they did in the older versions of EV. Unguided weapons will still fire at the same time if I set the flag but the guidance 1 and 2 weapons do not.

Hrm. I'd have to see the file to know exactly what the problem is, but are you sure you gave the planet a defence fleet? I have no idea what is wrong with your second problem.

The only thing I can think of is that there is a constant coded into the engine somewhere that says you can not dominate a planet until you have a ship with a strength of X and I have not set the strengths on my ships high enough.
I'm having this problem too, except I know it's not the planet's fault. I messed with the Shuttle stats a bit and in further playing around I wanted to see if I could Subdue a planet, but it wouldn't let me even with a far beyond deadly rating. I went in and changed the stats again, thinking it was the strenght, as you suggested, but to no avail. Then I thought maybe it was skill, cause I wasn't sure what that did either, and that didn't work. So I'm not sure; maybe it is strenght but I just messed something up somehow.

I tried changing strength and skill and inherentAI and and everything else I could think of in the ship file and nothing worked. If it is not a problem with the planet or the ship, what else could it be? The goverment of the planet maybe.
I have the curious problem of being able to dominate nearly every planet on first attempt.(They don't send out a defense fleet) Then when I release them and try to redominate them, then I have to deal with their defense fleet. Weird huh?

I have a similar problem to TheClone. Do you just need to make a new pilot or something?

The only possible thing I can think of is that it is a bug. You may want to report it, although I'm fairly certain somebody already has. You should probably do it anyway, with a copy of your pilot log.
