Help With Plug-In making with Nova

Yeah, so? I'm stupid. šŸ™‚

Okay. I've tried getting NovaTools to work, but I can't. So someone gave me their ResEdit Prefs so I could try it then. Still didn't work. Now, what about these TMPL files? Where do I get them?

Is NovaTools the only "program" to help me with editing plgs, or can I do it directly trhough ResEdit like with EV/O? If so, what do I need to do that?

Anything will work, because I already know most of the things Ā— all I have to learn are the new Nova resources.

Thanks a lot.

When you install nova tools it is like editing older EVs, except with alot more stuff.

I'm not sure why're you're having problems, but it may be a bum ResEdit. Try downloading another?

Oh, and did you raise the memory for ResEdit? (Command-I on the program when it's closed).

Heh. It's not a bad ResEdit, because I've already made a TC for EV Classic (although it has yet to be released).

The only things I see are letters and numbers. It's like when you're missing the TMPL file in EV Classic. So, I'm missing some kind of TMPL file. And where am I supposed to get these? I heard something about Ambrosia's mirror servers, yet I con't know of any that have the file...

Yeah, when NovaTools are installed it will come up with tables and such to make it easy to edit things, just like the older ones. No other tmpls should be needed, at least that I've run into.

I'll just re-download NovaFools.

For just the plain TMPL's made by mcb, download the Bible. Every EV version's tmpl comes with the bible.

Of course, the EVN templates are at the beginning of the Addons page. They're really helpful, but of course, NovaTools is much easier. I didn't have any problems with NovaTools, but I also downloaded the newest version. I also read on a different post that NovaTools has issues in OS 9.2.x What version are you using? With 9.1, i've had no problems.

NovaTools doesn't have any issues in OS 9.2.x, ResEdit does. That's what DrRalph said, but I seriously doubt that, for I have used ResEdit for tasks ranging from changing file formats to C programming, and never had any problems until now.

I have 9.1.2. So there. šŸ™‚

I want OS X though. :frown:
