I'm working on a Marathon TC and my team just realized that none of us are any good with sounds. Any one interested post here and/or contact me at (url="http://"mailto:Sargatanus@hotmail.com")mailto:Sargatanus@hotmail.com(/url)Sargatanus@hotmail.com
+1 karma point to those who apply
You know, it's not that hard to extract the sounds from M2 and M?. You can save them as sys7 sounds files right out of Anvil, and then downsample them to 11.1 or so KHz 8-bit using ConvertMachine...
I don't know if this is what you're looking for, exactly, but it's my best idea. I can explain the process in a little more detail if you're interested.
Yeah, like what Onyx said. In my situation, I use SoundEdit 16 where I open up Marathon Sounds resource and I already have access to all the sound effects which I can easily transfer to any plug-ins provided if they're opened up through Sound Edit 16 first.

Except that I'm not looking for sounds from the marathon games. Those were hand weapons, I need sounds for ship weapons.

That didn't stop me from using some hand weapon sounds from Marathon to put into my EVO game, if you feel that you don't want to use the exact sound effects, you can always tweak it here and there change it untill it sounds unique in so many ways. For example, I used the rocket launcher sound from Marathon to replace the standard rocket sound in EVO except that I lowered the pitch and shrunk the time increment a bit just to have a unique sound I wanted.
We were currently taking about marathon plugs in the ev-nova.net forums. I know this post is about sound artist, which I cant help out on, but I am a marathon buff and know the story from cover to cover. If you need anyhelp with stories or missions, just reply to this post and I can get in touch.
