Spell expander quests-money

I have 2 questions. The first is that in the read me of the spell expander you mention new quests. I have been looking around but can't find anything. If you could help me get started, that would be a great help. Now to question 2. I need to buy the shield from kalixa, but I don't have nearly enough money (I spent it all on tomes, thnx agn for telling me about that plug-in, Stark). Do you know of anywhere or anyhow I can get money fast (Note: I have trouble dealing with manticores, so it would have to be something less powerful. I am level 16, but I can even get hit by goblins occasionally.)

Use Stark's guide to find one of the rings or the Elven Full Plate Mail. I suppose that it will be difficult to obtain them, at your level, however.

  1. The quests start by talking to someone in Dernath. You need to be somewhere about level 14-16 to be able to see it through. Also listen to rumors in the mage tower, some are good leads, some are not. Another quest involves "crashing a party" so to speak, in other words, working your way into somewhere you're not normally invited (hint, hint).

  2. There is no really fast way to acumulate a lot of money quickly without resorting to some cheat plug-ins while you are in the early and mid game. There are some tricks to learn, however. Find some squares you can do well in, and return several times. I like the square just west of the bridge you helped build. It has lots of Ookwasps that are pretty easy to swat, and the square just north of Dernath where the four mages seem to drop good gold. Whenever you pick up weapons from the creatures you kill, hold them until you get to Gwyden Camp or Fungus' Getaway because the items you sell in those places bring twice the price you'd get from one of the town merchants.

I don't recall that Kalixa has a shield the conjurer can use but there is a shield for sale in the mage tower which is ideal if you're not using a two-handed weapon.

I hope some of this has been helpful, I'm trying not to totally spill the beans. πŸ™‚

Find those areas you missed the first time around. You'll want to explore those hidden areas now made accessible with Stark's new plug-in!

The only place I can think of is the Swordsman's Guild, and they still won't let me in. I did the quest in Dernath, and heard a rumor in the mage tower that a man named Bernard lived by the water wheel in Fantrima, so I checked it out and used Pandora's Box. I got across the river, but there seems to be a shield around the man and he won't come close enough to talk to me. I don't like asking for help, but I'm stumped. Where do I go? Or, are there any rumors that will help me? If yes, which one(s)?

If you've completed the dernath quest and heard the rumor about him, perhaps you should talk to someone who might know him, particularly someone who might live near him in the same village.

I'll try that. In the meantime, I listened to some more rumors and heard a rumor about a tome in the learning tree and missing knights in Berglum. I found the Pandora's Box tome in the Learning tree, but alas, my Conjuror is only of the 17th level. Off to Berglum!

Bleh, I've been looking around Berglum and have talked to everyone, and found nothing. STrangely, I've noticed blue dots on the map that are invisible. If I go next to them and press "x," my character turns towards them, but no dialog appears, nor do they! Off to Fantrima!

I found a mage in Fantrima selling tomes, and bought and used all four(or five) tomes. Is he the guy you were talking about?

As they say, you're getting warm. But how can the Conjurer trick the Guard into thinking he's a Swordsman? The nature of the Conjurer's art is deception, is it not?

If you are using Straytoaster's timer, that may account for the blue dots before your eyes. He resently made (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum61/HTML/001060.html#straytoaster09-26-200203:56AM")this post.(/url)

BTW, you won't need the application "Pandora's Box" to get anywhere in the Kingdom of Garendall (not to be confused with the spell "Pandora's Box") because all the teleportation skills are now available to the Conjurer, long range, short range, and pot luck.

This is a large plug-in, be patient, don't try to solve it all at once. πŸ™‚

I'm not trying to solve it at once, I just got frustrated with looking for the next quest. You're right, however. I should be more patient. If I finish it too quickly, I'll have to wait FOREVER for Cafalll's plugin, and waiting isn't very fun, now is it?

I know how to get to Bernard. I found out by accident, but if your interested, email me at MIDiamond@aol.com. When you get to him... well, its worth it.

I found out how to get to him. Then, I beat all of the levels in the Swordsmans Guild. Then, I went up against a Sea Giant in my new form. Unfortunately, I was turned away when it attacked, so my block was useless. Killed me in one hit. The worst thing is, however, that I forgot to save. :frown: :frown: :frown:
