res edit w/ novatools

im trying to use novatools with resedit at school, but the system folder is locked and i cant get to the resedit preferences. could someone compress a copy of resedit w/ novatools already integrated into it and put it somewhere so i can download it? thanks.

Drag the ResEdit preferences out of the system folder...then put them back in after the changes have been made? Do it yourself at home?

If it's locked up tight you won't be able to drop the modified preferences anyway. It won't matter if NovaTools has been installed on a different computer, it'll read the preferences on the school computer (which you can't change).

I'm not familiar with how NovaTools works, but I do know that the ResEdit templates for EV/EVO can just be pasted into the ResEdit document that is your plugin. Maybe you can't do this with NovaTools.

In my experience, NovaTools must be in the prefs, not the document. I tried to do this but it didn't work - I didn't really want them in my prefs because they screw up EV/O plug editing.

There is no way to install NovaTools if your System Folder is locked; downloading somebody else's copy will not help. The reason they must be in the Preferences rather than the document itself is that there are not just editors, there are also extra code fragments, menus and the like that. NovaTools is really a seperate application that runs within ResEdit, it seems.
