you are improving. you still need to work on texturing, but the modelling is much better! The ship looks kinda flimsy though.
All spaceships are kind of flimsy compared to the damage a single asteroid travelling at a decent velocity could do. That's why you need shields (well, or a very thick and strong hull) and once you've got them bizzarre shapes are a-go.
