What exactly does the scry spell do? I know it gives you your coordinates (23,91 ect.). I have tried asking the guy in the Mage Tower, but all he will say is "I don't have that spell." Am I asking right? Is it supposed to be used with some other spell, like mark and recall?

Yes, this spell is best when used in conjunction with another spell. And as for the spell's description, check with the person you purchased it from.

I have asked and she said that in theory you could use another spell to get where you wanted to go. She said to go to the mage tower, which I managed to get to after being attacked and killed by cyclopses. At the mage tower, I asked and he said "I don't have that spell." Just please what is the other spell?

The other spell is not one that you can purchase. However, there is a rumor in the tower that will have at its climax the ability to get this spell.
Forgive me for not wanting to be explicit at this time on the webboard, because I do want people to be able to experience finding things on their own. However, I also understand your frustration if you believe you have looked but still are unable to find what you are seeking.
So two things for you:
First, take a look at the (url="http://"http://stark.evula.net/pogwalkthrough.htm#spellsexpanderspells")spells list(/url) for this plug-in that I added to the (url="http://"http://stark.evula.net/pogwalkthrough.htm")PoG Walkthrough and Compendium(/url). Realize that all spells from 1-3 are able to be purchased at one of the 3 shops(Fantrima, Gwyden Camp, Mage's Tower). All spells from 4-6 are found in quests or through exploration or intuitive thinking. Thus it stands to reason that the spell you are searching for lies in that group, and I personally don't think it should be hard to figure out from their names what spell you want(of course, I wrote the plug-in, so I realize that what I consider easy may be a bit biased, heh).

Mr. Mirthrander, I think I can clarify what Stark just said without giving away the parts he feels protective about. Scry, as you know, tells you where your are now. That information is useful in only two ways. Either you will want to get back to that spot later, or you will use that spot as a reference to plan on going somewhere else. If you haven't got it figured out yet, and want to know more, I'll be happy to e-mail you a more comprehensive answer.

BTW, I couldn't help but notice that one of the new items in Spell Expander is called "The Ring of Palin." Palin is a character in the Dragonlance series. Is that where you got the name of the item from?

The Spells Expander plug-in has been released and is available for download from the addons page. And this spell is available for purchase in Gwyden Camp.
It is a necklace, not a ring. And no, it is not from Dragonlance. I simply made the name up when I created the item. If there is a character from the DL series, then this is purely coincidental. There are some references to books and movies in the plug-in, but dragonlance was not an intended one.
