Defeating the cyclops?

Ok I went to the small village of whatever its called and they asked me to save them from the cyclops. I went up to the cyclops' base as it were and keep getting my arse kicked.
Any hints help etc, it would be of help.

Also while i'm writing, is POG worth the money to register. I havn't yet but want to. however i don't want to waste my money even if it is only $25.

To defeat the cyclops band you're probably going to have to get stronger and buy better armor and weapons. To do that you'll have to get to Berglum. To do that you'll have to register your game. Yes, it's definitely worth the price and more. This game is vast and expanding with new plug-ins in the works. I'm having more fun with this than any other game I've played. 🙂

I spent most of my fight tucked behind my shield. I also use a lure technique, wherein I draw one creature at a time, back to a area I know to be empty. This cuts down on being jumped by multiple beasties.

I agree with RD, this game is definitely worth the $25, especially if you enjoy RPGs.

Hope this helps,

I never found them to be any problem. None of the cyplops were anywhere near eachother, so I didn't have to lure them. It's easy to do if it's 1v1. I think I did it with only the best DrivaTan stuff from Fantrima.

I think Mr Mendleson gave good advise. If you enter the area around their campfire too quickly, two or three can come at you at the same time, and at that level of play I don't think you have much of a chance against a gang-up. I've had it happen to my characters more than once.

Cheers for that I'll try again, the only problem is, by the time i've got to the cyclops' base camp I'm down to about 19/79(?) health, Due to all the dragons and spiders and stuff.

I think i'll register then by the sounds of it, and then go to Berglum buy a nice lot of stuff and then try again.

again thanks for the help.

First, just try to find one cyclops and kill him and take his eye. If you do that the old guy down at the bottom of the Dernath(the town you have to save) screen will give you two stat chaning potions, and you will be happy. then go back to the cyclops and you will find that there are only nine left! so just keep on killing one then leaving in a hurry, buy some more healling crap and do it over and over again. Also, don't throw your keyboard at your monitor like AAC says, its not good financially.

(save the money so you can register, its worth it!)

(Im not really a new guy, was just un-inventive when I registered)

Technically, you are new, as you just registered today. Though you may not be new to the game. And Toolman gives great financial advice!

Anyway, welcome to the boards!

Without Trinity, I use lots and lots of healing potions, taking one every time I get whacked. Attack, block, potion, as well as frequent saving has worked for me. I get the money by using the Bankers plug, and putting the original 50 in, then more and more and more, as I slay many a beast and watch it grow. Ah, the fun of saving money....
I've never tried using the Elven Bow of Destruction, but it might be worth trying a quick run into the cave 1 square north of Fantrima, grab the bow, save then run out, unless you want to fight it out.
