ANN: MissionComputer 1.0.0 Released

I've just posted version 1.0.0 of MissionComputer, my resource editor for EV Override. MissionComputer does not replace traditional plug-in editing tools such as ResEdit, but complements them to provide an easier way of editing missions, descriptions, commodities, and the game's year offset. It also provides an easier way to look up the resource IDs needed when setting up plug-ins.

MissionComputer is available both in a Classic version for Mac OS 9 and earlier, and in a Carbon version designed for Apple's next-generation Mac OS X. The current version of MissionComputer includes full support for the EV Override 1.0.2 file format, and support for Escape Velocity 1.0.5 is planned for future versions. Whether or not MissionComputer will be updated to support the upcoming EV Nova is undecided at this time.

MissionComputer for EV Override version 1.0.0 is now available as freeware from my new web site at (url="http://"http://davidarthur.evula.net/")davidarthur.evula.net(/url).

Hehe my Mac Emulator is booted by the 7.5.3 Mac OS I will get you information when I use it

------------------
I don't need a Mac anymore. I got a emulator!! With some add-ons with my trusty updates from my Mac OS 8.5 Disk!!!

I've discovered a bug. I don't know exactly what it is, but the effects are that it sets many of my missions with an AvailRating of -1 to 100. Also, I can't edit the availability randomization factor or the AvailRating.

Thanks. I think I've fixed this one for 1.1. There was some cross-talk occurring between the AvailRating and AvailRandom fields which I think was responsible for all of this.

Can I get it in a non-sit format? A SEA would be real nice.

Why do you need it in a non-StuffIt format? Various other issues come into play if I package it another way, so I'll need to know the details before we can work something out.

Wow. A real editor with an author that is fixing bugs. Perhaps MissionComputer could turn into a full featured editor for EV/EVO/EVN...

In any event, I'd most like to see a graphical system editor.

Impressive. I hope you'll have a good explanation of the govt resource in your Help system, though; the Override Bible was hard to understand.

We have one. It's called EVO Developer's Map.

Support for Escape Velocity 1.0.5 is definitely on the to-do list. As for EV Nova, I'm waiting to see R&R; Software's editors before I decide anything.

On the full-featuredness front, I am expanding the feature set as you can see above. Next on the to-do list for versions after 1.1.0 is expanded resource-management functions, but I'll also be experimenting with editors for other resources.

In my experience, Pontus's EVO Developer's Map does that part of the job quite adequately.

What parts of it did you feel needed to be clearer?

Everything was okay except for some of the flag explanations and the InherentJam field description. However, I just looked at MissionComputer's government editor, and everything is perfectly understandable at a glance.
