If, as I believe, you mean the millions of colours icons used in Mac OS 8.5 (8.0 only supports System-7 style 256-colour icons, and nothing supports thousands of colours icons), there's no way to edit them in ResEdit. I suggest you try (url="http://"http://www.mscape.com/products/iconographer.html")Iconographer(/url) which can edit all forms of Mac OS and Windows icons, including Mac OS X and Windows XP, and is available for both the Classic Mac OS and Mac OS X.

Yeah, that's what I meant. My monitor only displays up to thousands of colors, so I assumed (incorrectly, it would seem) that that's as high as the icons went. But thanks for the tip. It turns out I have a couple icon-editing programs on a MacAddict CD from July. Thanks!
