Mac emulators for the PC

Gah, I forget the name of it. Where might I find it? A friend of mine would like to play the good old game "EV".

Basilisk, which I think is a free 68k emulator, can be found (url="http://"http://www.uni-mainz.de/~bauec002/B2Main.html")here(/url). If your friend needs help with the setup, I think there's a link to a guide at the bottom of that webpage.

Anyhow, back on topic, I know someone who would like to play EV and doesn't know of any emulators besides Executor . . . but exactly what is this ROM image thingie? Perhaps my friend will know . . .

In most macs before the 'new world' G3s most of the essential data for the OS was held in ROM - things like screen blitting and such. In order for an emulator to sucessfully run it needs a copy of these things or it will not be binary compatible (eg you cant run precompiled programmes on it including the OS).

However this is not free, you need a utility to copy the ROM from one of your own computers (must be a 68k). I believe that there are websites that have ROM images on, but it's not legal.
