Both of these are for a plug I am going to use to publicise a movie, actually.
First off, does anyone here know how to make a font, or knows someone who knows how?
Secondly, are there any good 3-D artists without any projects on thier hands who would like to make the shipyard pics and sprites for the ships in my plug?
Thank you.

Well, I'm basically free, as all the other projects I applied for I never got a reply from (I hope that doesn't say anything about my skills). I'd be glad to contribute my skills. Samples can be found (url="http://"http://www.pacificnet.net/~restorer/3d/")here(/url). The newer ones are much better, as I've been learning as I've been modeling. Feel free to contact me, or just reply to the topic, whatever. I visit the boards a few times a day, so I'll see it.
As to fonts, I have no idea about the good type (is it TrueType or PostScript?), but I do know that in ResEdit you can make bitmap fonts with the FONT resource, or something related.

TrueType is the best format to use for screen display on a Macintosh, but unfortunately, you can't create them in ResEdit. You have to use Fontographer, or some other similar program, and you have to design them as vector graphics rather than raster.

Restorer, sent you an E-mail with the interceptors of the major governments. David, where could I get my hands on that fontmaker program? It's for the trade language of the Enganda aliens - I made up a set of characters for them.

Fontographer is a commerical application, and the last time I checked it cost a couple of hundred dollars. How many different characters are there in this would-be font? If it's not too complicated, I might be able to throw one together for you.
Ah, let's see... no K, X, or C, plus numbers zero to nine and period... there would still be uppercase (tail) letters. Would it help if I sent you the list of characters?

That won't be necessary at the moment, but what form do you have your characters in? (ie. file format, resolution, etc.)
I can E-Mail it as a graphics file. Does it terribly complicate matters if the language is written right-to-left?

No, but you would have to type your text backwards - the font can't handle that for you. What format are your graphics in, and how large are they?
My graphics are in a GIF file... 64 kilobytes. There are 5 characters that need to be keyd to Option - the character for GN (key to 'N'), for AE (to E), for the accent (to H), for RH (to R) and for TH (to T). Also have AI be 'Y'. Thank you.

The font is under construction...
