I don't know if any of you remeber this show. It aired on Fox in 95/96 but was taken off after only one season. It was, however, one of my favorite shows, and recently I revived my interest in it. It occured to me the other day that it would make a GREAT EV/O plugin.
Unfortunatly, I know exactly squat about making plugins or modeling 3D stuff. Nor do I know much about the S:AAB universe. I'm trying to get my hands on a complete copy of the episodes right now, which will help me learn more.

Well, like I said, I'm working right now on getting copies of the episodes on VHS and then burning them to VCD. When that gets done I could send them to you. In the meantime, do a Google search for Space: Above and Beyond and there will be a few pages. Anyway, I don't think there'd be enough for a full TC, but it might be cool to have the aliens from that series incorporated into the EV/O scenarios. From there you could extrapolate a decent set of missions, for example prevent them taking over the galaxy (or maybe something original).

Unfortunatly, I live in the boondocks, and we don't get Sci-Fi. If we did, I would watch it. And if I could watch the episodes on TV, I wouldn't have to buy them online, which is what I'm doing now. Dammit...
As for the plug, I was thinking about it today, and you're right Evil Homer. There really wern't enough Episodes or lore to really do a whole plug. I was thinking maybe a short mini-plug. But an addition to the EV/O universe might not be a bad idea. For instance... A wormhole opens and a bunch of chigs pop through, followed by the 58th. It is your job to help the 58th defend the galaxy from the evil Chigs. Or something. Whatever. I just don't know anything about making plugs, and figured if someone here had an interest in the show it might give them a good idea.

Nice pics ares1. Check out the links that I posted in my second post, because they might help with both series background, and some examples/comparisons for your work. The second link in particular would be helpful in that area. It is a page that deals with a Space: Above and Beyond expansion for the game Homeworld. Check it out and let me know what you think.
