Hey everyone! It would be easier if I had my own little page to post messages on...that way I could have all of my questions overload my own server Ok. Anyway, in my new plug, I'm having that imfamus bug where when you go to start up EV/O, it says 'EV encountered an error while trying to start up, porbably from lack of memory. Please increase EV's memory allocation and try again' or something like that. I was trying to fix that, as my EVO program has 35 megs of actual RAM, not vertual. This bug is often caused by spďn resources that point to something that isn't there. I don't know if anyone else knows what it might be, as I have checked all of the spďn resources. I really don't want to send a 3.8 meg plug out for testing... Does anyone know of a program that can check your EVO plugs for bugs then give you the results? If you do, or have ideas on what could be causing this imfamus bug, please post. Thanks.

First, check your plug for outfits that do not overwrite EVO Standard Outfits (an ID greater than 255) and make sure that they all have a corresponding picture of the correct ID. Then check to make sure all of your PICTS are 256 colors. I had to find this out myself once, and it took a long time. If that doesn't work, then it must be a spin problem, or a really obscure bug.

1.) Double check all your spins - make sure that not only are they pointing to something, they're pointing to the right thing 2.) Make sure your masks line up against the sprites, in terms of dimensions and grid 3.) Make sure you allocated enough RAM to EVO. Just having it installed isn't enough. 4.) Triple check all your spins 5.) Make sure your Sprites and Masks are all in indexed color, using the macintosh 256 color palette. Saving Masks in 1 bit mode saves space, but screws up occasionally. Saving Sprites in 32 bit mode wastes space and might burn memory dithering 6.) Make sure your sprites all have horizontal dimensions that are multiples of 8, not exceeding 176 pixels, and make sure you avoid 88 pixels.

Yes! Use PlugChecker by Dyna Systems.
It should be on the add-ons page for EV (it is the EV and EVO version)

Damn that bug. I played Frozen Heart (nice work, Martin) again, up to where Emile was having some troubles with his metabolical state, and then it came up with that bug. I think perhaps EV-Edit is to blame.
Oh come on, Martin, you can't blame me for taking a peek. <grins> I wonder what Thor's hammer is doing in there...and the tree of life from Norse legend. Hmm...interesting.

Ture...But I beat the entire plug...just 4 days! Unhuh! Take that! Anywho, I thik it might be in the outfits, as there are like 10 and 6 of them don't have outfit pictures, and 3 of the fighters point to the wrong ship...something's screwed..I'm working on it!
