I checked the utilities but the templates are stuffed with a version of stuffit that I guess is too old for 6.5 to use. Does anyone know where else I can get the RESedit templates?

First of all, do you need the EV or EVO templates? THere is a difference.

You can get someone to send them to you as an e-mail attachment in resedit format...?! they're not that big or of a problem otherwise, I dunno.

EVO. I have tried a bunch of different stuff but it hasn't worked. The reason I need them is because i lost all of my editing stuff when I had a massive power surge that killed my old computer.
