Does anyone else have the problem where if you try to translate the directions are wrong? like up is left, right is down, left is up, etc?

Do you mean on the keyboard? If so no and I can't help. Sorry

The problem is probably that you rotated the object. When you rotate an object, it's like it gets its own axis. So, if you rotate an object 90 degrees, the whole axis of that object will also rotate 90 degrees. So if you rotated something 180 degrees, left will be right etc. Hope this helps.

The thing to do is put the translation before the rotation on the pop-up menu of the list of transformations, you do this my choosing none for the object then inserting the translation.
