That means that your government doesn't have a transponder code - that's what shows up in the target box, I think.

TSB, Starkiller is right. You need the EV Formula Calc if you don't have it. Add all the STRs and Descs and whatever else it says that your govt. needs.
Erm... Why can't you give out your government name? If anyone wants to steal it, they can steal it when you release your plugin, too. Besides, no one on these boards would do something like that intentionally. I went ahead and posted the names of all my governments, outfits, ships, etc. in a thread on the EV Board. This is a fairly trustworthy community, I think.

I have found this to be an exceptionally cooperative and good-natured online community, as far as online communities go. I've been to a lot of web boards, and I have to say that this and the EV board of the present are some of the best that I have seen, as far as the members go.

Well, first of all, stop obsessing about Karma. So you lost a point or two; deal.
Now, the problem you're having. The government "Transponder code" is the 8-character-or-less form of the government name that appears in the target section of the status bar. E.g. Pirate, Rebel, Confed, Merc, etc. Use that ID# STR, or modify STR# 6000 (I recommend doing the former unless you are doing a TC or a major scenario).

So where do I go to edit that?? Do I go into the STR resource, then edit ID 6000?

If you have a Government ID# 151, you will need to create or edit the following resources; STR 4023 -- Target Code (what is shown as part of the target graphic when targetting a ship of that government); STR 4223 -- Comm Name, and STR# 7023. The last is a series of text strings, I think six or so, which are what ships of this government say when you hail them.
Please note the difference between STR and STR# They are not the same kind of resource, and they function differenly in the game.
Suggestion -- use ResEdit to open up the EVO data1 and data2 and look at what Matt put in originally. Remember -- only work on a copy, not your only copy of the application!
