3D programs on eBay are slow so I am calling on people on the dev board for help. I am looking for any medium 3D graphics programs that someone wants to sell to me. I have about $150 money. Programs like Infini-D etc. Thank You
A Spisak
------------------ Why have one when you can have two for twice the price.
If you already have around $150, I would recommend saving up another fifty+ dollars to buy Hash's "Animation Master" (the name is a bit deceiving. It is an amazing 3D program that will give you the most bang for the buck). If you want to see what such a program can do, try viewing some of Meowx Design's work, or download the MAGMA or Quantamire Trilogy plugins.
Just my worthless two cents.

I found is months ago (later months of last year) at some abandoned warehouse on the web, and downloaded it (it came with all the features of version 4.5). The bad part, however, is I can't remember the warehouse url, and I also can't seem to locate it through any of the major search engines. :frown:
Sorry I couldn't be of much help. Have you tried Strata before?

If you're referring to the free version of Strata, it's absolutely worthless. Not worth the time it takes to download, even on our w00table cable connections. I don't have any experience with full versions, but I don't seem to recall them being cheap.

To Cap. Skyblade If you could burn me a copy of your Infini-D and registration code, I will pay a little fee.

Captain, I dont think its wise to annouce here that you are using pirated software. The same refers to Draxo trying to buy this soft from Skyblade.By the way I think most of the work by David are made in Ray Dream and not Hash.
t think it

I'm looking for a 3-D modeling program that I can get for free off the Internet. Does one exist? Thanks, Nemo

I disagree. I have been using free versions of Strata for four years. I upgraded to the Pro version about two months ago, but until that time I was using the free version Strata 3d and was extremely satisfied with it.
You can still obtain this in various places on the web. The current release version is a little downgraded from that, but still very powerful. There is absolutely no need to go pirate. Remember that the current free version of Strata is as good as anything costing $1000 that was on sale up to about 18 months ago.

I'de have to disagree. Cinema 4D GO ($200) is a very good intermediate 3D program.
It come with a great Manual and Tutorial plus SpaceShip contruction kit.

Okay, I know Cinema 4D GO is good, but it's also expensive. What I'm talking about is something cheap, or preferably free. Also why aren't people able to freely distribute Infini-D now that it's no longer being made? That program is years old and surely the company wouldn't mind its old software going around freely.

Hey, that wasn't me.

Er... thing costing a thousand bucks were that bad?!? Most features are disabled, including texture importing - there's a very limited set to work with, and the only new type you can make is wood, which is nearly useless for EV graphics. I found the interface non-intuitive and lacking many features, some of which may be in pay versions, but the free version did less than nothing to convince me to buy anything from them. IMO, calling that free version a full featured modelling program is an insult. There's so little that can be done with it, it's laughable. Oh, and it comes with no documentation, just a link back to their site, from which I could find little or nothing in the way of help.

The website I downloaded my copy of Infini-D from strictly said that it was a free copy, previously owned by a 3D modeller who updated to Lightwave. So in a sense, I got Infini-D (not a pirated version... I don't use pirated software) for free from someone who simply wanted to give it away...

Sorry, I can't do that. I'm sure you are eager to get hold of a good 3D programmer, but sending you a burned copy is against the law. You'd be better off saving up for something like Animation Master or even Cinema 4D...

I might sell you my copy since I now have the XL version.

They mind in fact. I think it was Squinky who contacted the guys who has the rights on Infini-D now,and he was told that they gonna be "PISSED A LOT" if they knew about any free copies of this programme posted for download on the net.
I know that posting a pirated version of software is wrong, but what about an older (free) copy of Strata 3D? With the features that it used to have? I'd be willing to have a server operating on a temporary basis, assuming it would be legal... (I never updated my copy of Strata after I heard they had taken a lot out of the newer version)
------------------ Pinky, Are you pondering what I am pondering? I think so, Brain, but if they called them sad meals, kids wouldn't buy them.
I apologize for seeming like a low down criminal. I was just curious about the copyright restrictions on Infini-D. Again sorry.

heh...you really have no idea huh? Animation Master is an organics modelling program (modells organic stuff, people, etc...), and after you pretty much master it, you can create some decent looking ships. David has been working with Hash for probably as long as he had Ray Dream. All of the ships in Magma are Ray Dream and Quantumire ships are mostly Ray Dream (well, the old ones at least). And about the bang for the buck...heh...heh...hehe... Infini-D and Ray Dream both are better geometric modellers then Hash BIG TIME, therefore you'll be wasting money on Hash unless you're willing to master it. I personally would go for Ray Dream (look at Onyx's work). Ray Dream is pretty common on e-Bay. Infini-d isn't and when it is, it's likely an older version. Either way, don't expect it to be a cake walk. Good 3D modelling takes years to achieve. The best graphics artist around here have been at their specific programs for years and years.
And...Capt Skyblade, it is pirating if you downloaded non-demo or free copyrighted software regardless of the previous owner... You need the original disc and codes for it to Not be pirated software, and your name has to be listed as owner in their databases.
PEACE YO!™

About HASH, I've used it before, and I absolutely loved the modeller (for ship models that is).
As for my copy of Infini-D, I had my dad go over the information at the site I downloaded it at before grabbing it. He (my dad), is a web designer and database programmer, so he is fully aware of what is considered pirateted software. After he read it over a bit and made sure this guy was giving it away for free to whoever found it first, he said it was a go. If my copy of Infini-D really was pirated software, I wouldn't be using it...
