need help w/ uploading

now, this may sound stupid, but i can't figure out this ftp thing.

I guess i'm using composer (i don't have anything else that uploads) and I always get this screen that says no server specified.

Also, when you save the file as index.html, but then the little box in the Publish dialouge has the whole "macHD,Desktop,Folder,File" thing in it, is that okay? Will it go to the website as index.html?

Help me, Please!!!!!

I'd suggest that you get Transmit by doing a search for it at (url="http://"http://www.download.com")www.download.com(/url) . It has a very Mac-ish drag-and-drop interface.

Sorry, i can't help you, though I'll recomend a program. Search for Fetch. It's really easy and simple to use. Drag and drop as well.

Evil Penguin: What information are you putting in the 'Publish files to this location (FTP or HTTP)' field? I'm guessing that you're inputting something like 'ftp.hostname.com.' That was the case at my old server; when I recently changed servers, I had to input numbers instead: the actual server address (as in 205.212.888.102 , or whatever). Ask whoever runs your server; they should certainly tell you.

I've never had any problem with 3.0.1, except maybe when running it in Classic. Works great for me.

Fetch is extrememly easy to use (although I'm getting very irritated with f2s at the moment, since I can't upload my site with the new Azdgari set at the moment. :frown: The server is always too busy on Friday nights...). As simple as the ftp program may be, it does the job well...

Do you have Stuffit? It's for un stuffing your files. Dropstuff, it's companion, is for stuffing files. However, there is a deluxe version too, that does both jobs. Most unfortunatly, however, none are free. All of them can be downloaded (url="http://"http://www.aladdinsys.com")here(/url) and can be used for as long as you like without registering.

OK. That's cool too. but ye know whats cooler? YOUR SIG! I love that movie! However, I would suggest, "So young, so angry... DAMN THAT RAP MUSIC!" It puts more influence into it and put in the pause. And I would put de lizards name in there instead of "DR2." I haven't seen it since it came out, so I can't remember his name, if he had one, at the moment. I LOVE the quote though!!!
