Descs: How far should we go?

Even though it's a pain, long, in depth descriptions are the way to go. Now, no one will read them right away, but they usually will eventually. It gives you a chance to give the races more background and story. The one desc I tend NOT to do this for, however, is the bar... 😉

I can't help any further with 21CDB's question, but somewhat on topic, Nova's support for longer descs is one of the things I'm going to appreciate most in the engine. In case you couldn't tell (just try asking me a question by e-mail ;)), I always try writing complete pieces, which often makes my style seem long-winded, and so many of my descs for (now dead) (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/retribution.html")Retribution(/url) had to be cut significantly. :frown: For example, a lot the planet descriptions I wrote for the Planet Description thread here a few months had to be shortened, and I was pretty happy with them otherwise.
