I've got some problems - I've created a plug-in with a bunch of new ships, but I can't get them to say what I want when they're hailed - I'm pretty sure I matched up the STR#'s correctly. Also, I've created about 11 person ships, but none of them have shown up anywhere (I've been looking for about a week). Can anyone help? I would appreciate it.

Yeah, I can't get a pers to show up either...
To test your person ships asign them to show up in a specific system. Check to EVO bible for exactly how. Then go to that system, if the person is there, it works. Some persons show very rarily.
A Spisak
------------------ Why have one when you can have two for twice the price.
I tried having all eleven ships show up in one system - no dice. What's the problem with my pers resources? Also, I must reiterate that I've been having trouble trying to get my STR# resources to work - when my plug-in ships show up, they don't say what they're supposed to.
Try using the equivalent 'STR ' resource (dont forget the trailing space). It explains how to at the end of the bible IIRC.

I'm a little confused by what you're saying, but if I'm right I think I know what your problem is. Have you assinged the pers to show up in a specific system in the pers LinkSyst field?
If that's the case, then it will never show up anywhere else. To test it, instead put the pers's resource ID in the AlwaysPers of the syst field.
For the hail and comm quotes, use STR# ID's 7101 and 7100 respectivly. Then, in the CommQuote and HailQuote fields in the pers resource, enter the # of the string within the STR# resource that you used.
Also, if you want them to show up more freequently, make several other pers identical to those 11. That is how Martin Turner caused the pers in Femme Fetal to show up a lot. I think he made 7-8 copies of each one.
Hope this helps.

Well, I just used Shmelta-V...
Just a second... I think I have Schmelta V somewhere...
K, it would be the "location" pull-down menu. I was asking if you'd selected "Specific system".
