How long does email confirmation of the mailing list andrew was talking about take? I submitted yesterday and still have no confirmation mail. I might have typed my address wrong...

It took less than thirty seconds for me to receive mine...
I would suggest you try again and make sure you type in your email correctly...

Guiness Barrels....hehehe.....
Mish/Mash guess two: Will, mish sounds a bit like mission, so it could be something to do with mission bits? Hmm...sounds like Mission Bitmap II has that covered...maybe there's a Mash resource! "How many potatoes would you like distributed with your plug?"

Crap, Yahoo was screwing up on me. It said I had no new mail, but I checked, and there was the message there. I had already done it a second time. I guess I'll just respond to 1.

Hmm. So far it's taken about an hour and it still hasn't sent me anything. And I know I entered the right email.

Well, it would surprise me if there was anything wrong with the mailing list software -- it's been working fine for some time.

Nothing wrong with itΒ right after I posted, I checked my mail, it was there. Sorry. It appears Python comes through again!

It should be related to potatoes.

Yeah, relating to potatoes would be the best. Unfortunately there would be problems, mainly in two important groups:
1)The anti-potato group, they hate potatoes with a vengeance, and would boycott Nova for having anything to do with the dreaded 's-word'.
2)The potato worshippers, they love potatoes with a vengeance, and would boycott Nova for blasphemy.
Therefore it makes sense for them to have nothing to do with potatoes.
It can't be potatoes, ATMOS is from Australia. People in australia don't eat potatoes, they eat ringada's.

You'd be right about the rasban, although I fail to see what it has do to with developing for any version of EV...

Can't you just tell us?

Since you asked so nicely
Mish is a tool that attempts to extract mission desc storylines, into a tagged but largely free text format that can be edited with normal text editing tools. Mash takes a text file that contains mission descs in this text format, ususally from Mish, but they could be created from scratch, and creates the descs.
Frandall asked for the tools, and I eventually got a preliminary version working that he is trying out now. Unfortunately it turns out that the incredibly flexible mission bit scripting possible in Nova makes a completely general storyline search difficult, if not nearly impossible, so life for Mish is hard. but Mash is easy, and should make entering lots of long mission descs a lot easier.
Cheers! DrRalph
