Fusion is an EV/O editor that I am working on. I just started it today, and I plan to add much more to it. Right now, all it can do is edit dëscs and PICTs. It can also edit other data types, but not properly.
I am making it in REALbasic, so if anyone else here uses REALbasic, they are welcome to help me.

This project is meant as a way to learn, and I have no plans of making a final program that makes me money. It is for the good of everybody on these boards.
Enjoy.
------------------ iForgot
It has been updated, and now supports dëscs, PICTS,nëbus, and jünks. It has a new interface and a new splash screen, and dozens of bug fixes.

Tell me what you think of it.
Feature requests and bug reports are welcome at nicwaller@home.com
Cool. Very cool. I hope you plan to keep the source open forever? (says the open-source advocate on the boards). Thanks for doing this!

Yes, I do plan to keep the source open. I have finals coming up in 10 days, so progress will be all bu halted, but be rest assured that I will continue to work on it and add supoort for more resources. (url="http://"http://www.danicsoft.com/fusion/")www.danicsoft.com/fusion/(/url) I post all the new versions to this site, its reliability is poor at best, but it is extremely current. e-mail nicwaller@home.com if you want to test and have your name in the credits.

Sorry, ask Kevin where I am... I don't have ICQ access at the moment. :frown:
Due to certain extenuating circumstances, fusion will no longer be opensource, and soon it will be converted to shareware. It will be a nominal fee, $10 US, but due to my recent improvements, it should be well worth it. Expect a new version out in mabye a week.

Gulp! Eep! Betrayel!
There goes my support for it.

Don't you think that if Daedalus promotes Fusion, that all the members of Daedalus should get free copies? hehe, I'm pushing my luck.

------------------ Check out the brand new (url="http://"http://pub101.ezboard.com/bstarbasedelta")Starbase Delta(/url) webboard. Feel free to contact me on AIM or ICQ, for any reason at all, it doesn't really matter.
Aren't there other EV/EVO editors available that are free? I'm not a plugin developer so I don't really know what tools there are but I was sure there was something.
If there isn't and there's a great enough need for one which is free and open sourced, I'd be glad to make one. As I said, I don't make plugins but have made apps that grap stuff from the ev/evo data, graphic and sound files, so I pretty much know how they work.
So do you guys want one? I didn't think there was really a need for one now that evn is coming out soon, but I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to create one for ev/evo and then add evn support later.

------------------ Where the Hell's my roof?
There are no all-in-one editors (apart from ResEdit of course) that are free. And there are no open source editors around.
Well I'm working on making one, that is free and open source. I'm not the most dependable person around however, so I might not finish it. :frown: The more the merrier I say! I would use a free open source editor easily. Do it!

k, but i'm not terribly dependable either. i'm a realbasic loser so that's what the source will be in, but everyone uses that now anyway so that's cool.
i'll down a few editors and just steal their ideas now. commercial and shareware sucks, hear that ambrosia? capatilist pigs.
Iridium, I'm thinking of learning RealBasic, but I'm not sure where to start. Where did you go to learn and what programs? Also, how long was it before you were able to make something like this?

Do you think EV (or most games) would exist if they didn't make money?

yeah, I do. find some programmers, especially unix ones, then you'll get it.

Start by doing a simple "hello world" app, email me at nicwaller@home.com if you want some of my old source code. It has taken me about 1 year to get to this level.
