For Rift, we're making a new alphabet, and need to make a font for it. Is there an easy(and preferably cheap or free) way to make a font? Also, what are some font creation tools and where could I find them?

If you're serious about making fonts, unfortunately you can't acheive much without something along the lines of Macromedia's Fontographer, which costs several hundred dollars and requires a fair bit of knowledge about the workings of TrueType and PostScript vectors.

i don't know how to make a new font, but if you've got a font you don't use, you can edit it. open up the font in resedit and open the FOND resource with the same name as the font. go about half way down to the Res ID entry (the last entry above the really big box full of hex values). open the nfnt with that resource id- it'll give you an editing window with some letters and icons to the right and an editing area to the left. you can either click on the letter to edit, or just press the key of the letter you want to edit, and i'm sure you can figure out what to do from there

Its all just a buncha hex code. (edit)Hmm, I got it to work, but the text was all screwed up when I tried to use it.

So...anyone want to make the font for us out of the kindness of their heart?
this may simplify your creation of it: download (url="http://"http://www.zianet.com/mortal179/Terraccian.bin")http://www.zianet.co.../Terraccian.bin(/url) , then change NFNT resource 10440 to look like you want it to look. i think you have to keep it inside the arrows but other than that it should work. hope this helps
I can't do it like that because this is a font that has a lot of curves. When you do it in res-edit, it makes it look all pixelized and will only work properly at size 24 anyway. So if anyone out there has FontLab or anything and would like to help us, please email me.
