What programs do I use?

Except res-edit.
I've got res-edit and the bible.
This is enough to start writing my own plug-ins but I'ld like to know
what other great utilities there are. What other programs do you use for
creating plugs? Why? Wich ones shouldn't I use (EV-edit?)?

Well, you already have the two most useful items. You might want to check out the (url="http://"http://ambrosiasw.com/games/evo/addons.html")EVO Addons page(/url) for other editors that help you do the job easier than ResEdit. And while EV-Edit does have a nice, friendly interface, it also fuxes your plugs up. (While pretending to be nice.) If you want new sounds, you'll probably want to snag (url="http://"http://www.riccisoft.com/soundeffects/")SoundEffects(/url). And if you're looking to put some new 3D graphics into your plug, you might want to take a look at Mechanisto (which can be found in the "Addons" section, I think) - a free 3D program. Hope that helps!

Graphics. Games. And more...

Other usefull programs (some avaliable on the EV addons as -david- posted) would be make-spin, some kind of sound editor, (try (url="http://"http://www.download.com)")http://www.download.com)(/url), and a graphics editor too. I like Graphic Converter, its shareware and does everything you need it to. You can use photoshop demos as well . . .

Then is the hard part, you gotta learn how to use all these nice new programs you got yourself . . . 🙂

For graphics you might also consider Strata 3d. It too is free, but it's considerably more powerful than Mechanisto. It's hard to find though, so after a bit of hunting around I found the site it's on: (url="http://"http://www.digitalriver.com/dr/v2/ec_MAIN.Entry17c?CID=0&SID;=26511&SP;=10007&PN;=5&PID;=253960")http://www.digitalri...PN=5&PID=253960(/url) . Hope that helps!
