EVO Templates

I have found that you cannot download the Res-Edit EVO templates, and I have recieved a complaint that my plugin 'IgadzraBeam' is in the original EV format. I have also tried to copy the templates from a different plugin, but it still stays in original EV format! If someone could please help, I would be very grateful.

Erm... And, as a side question, where can I get Schmelta V? I don't see it in the utilities section.

You also have to change the creater and type of the plugin to something EVO specific. Further, if your resources were made with the EV templates, you may have other problems...

I got Smelta-V from the EV addons section.

Don't know why you can't download the EVO templates, and don't know why you would need to, they are included with EVO 1.0.2 - in the 'developer's' folder.

The easiest way to get your plug into EVO format is to make a copy of the sample plug in the developers folder, then paste your plug-in resources into the plug file. The other way is to use the "get file/folder information" command in ResEdit to read the type and creator codes for an EVO plug-in, then the change the codes of your plug-in to the correct EVO codes.

Ah, thanks. I do know how to put them in the file, but in the downloads section, there are two entries, one for the annonated (sp?) templates, one for the normal templates. However, they are both the annonated (sp?) templates when you download them.

How utterly twisted. I know there's an annotated version of the EVO Bible, so it may have something to do with that, but I don't think there's anything to add to the templates.

Your problem is to do with the "type" and "creator" codes of the plugin file. They should both be the same as your other EVO plugins (look at the get file/folder info window, under the file menu).

The changes made from EV->EVO->EVO 1.0.2 should not affect you too much, but you might want to double check that the default values for the new fields are what you want. If you choose to encorporate the new features, you can do it to as few resources as you like.

The annotated templates are for Resorcerer (like ResEdit, but costs ~$250). The annotated bible (either EV or EVO) is different, but I don't know where you can get it. Basically, the templates include much of the information from the bible into the resource editor, while the bible just gives updated information from the plugin developer who made it.

Now that you have the templates, paste them into your plug with ResEdit and then open up the beam - it should give you a message asking if you want to add the extra resources an EVO weapon resc has. And you can get Shmelta-V (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/cgi-bin/vftp/dl-redirect.pl?path=ev/utilities&file;=SchmeltaV.sit")here(/url). Good luck!
