to mburch or andrew, re: cargo types and pilot file

While putting the final touches on the pilot file editor I've been working on, I found something that confused me. The EVO engine allows for 64 different cargo types (according to the EVO Bible). The only file spec I was given was for the EV pilot file, and it has room for only 6 different cargo types (stored near the beginning on res 128 in the pilot file).

There are several parts of the EVO pilot file that I'd thought were unused. I'm at work and don't have the specs or my notes with me, so I can't give any specific offsets.

My question is: does the EVO pilot file allow for 64 different cargo types? If so, I can find where they are stored easily enough. If not, what does the EVO engine do if the player legitamately tries to buy 1 ton of more than 6 different cargo types (you'd have to define additional cargo types via a plugin as the EVO scenario(?sp?) has only 6, which is why I didn't catch this potential conflict sooner)?

Uh, I think basic cargo types are limited to six - anything else is defined through the oops resource. I don't know about the pilot format part of your question, though.

Again, I don't have access to materials related to EVO right now, but if I remember correctly, the Bible says 64 Cargo types (max) and 128 junks (max).

I could be wrong.

The first six are the only ones (exclusive of junks) that are available for sale in the commodity exchange. The others are usable with missions and can range from passengers to documents to ore. They're not, however, available to buy and sell.

Hope this helps.
