I keep on running into this problem:
Whenever I try to re-write the galaxy and test it out the old galaxy is all mixed up with the new one. What should I do? Should I re-write existing planets?

What you should do is make a backup of the EV/O data files, and then clean out everything you're not using (ships, outfits, spobs, systems). That way you can be sure that something will exist only if you made it.
This technique will also fix the 'dissapearing outfits' problem that people sometimes get.
Have fun, and happy res-editing!

I'll try it.

Note, this technique will only work well with TCs.

Argh!! I don't ever get to what I say I'll do. Once these data files are cleaned out they'll probably be up for download so that nobody has to go through the trouble of cleaning out there own.

When I was creating my galaxy, I knew that I would have more than the pervious number of systems. So I created several hundered blank one that I would change as I went. I think this way works better. Also works with spobs.

Ummm NNNormal, do you have split personalities, you posted twice. I'll try both ideas.
Oops, sorry. Well one N is for Nice and the other is to look better....
