I was trying to fiddle around with various editors for EVO (Docks, Shipwerks, EVOGod, Ev-Edit) and i got a really wierd bug. Any time i tried to edit a ship and save the changes, the changes would only stay until i closed the plug-after that, the changes disappeared.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

You probably opened it in read-only. in th open box, uncheck read-only and itll save fine. PS its called shipwrite

If you are using ShipWrite and having problems saving changes, I could tell you what's wrong...Is Shipwerk the same as ShipWrite?

NO WAY! Shipwerks is the ULTIMATE ship editor. I designed it by the way.

Give use a URL or something then. I've never heard of shipwerks. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum.
As for the original problem, check that the plugin isnt set read-only in the finder (file->get info) and that you are saving it when you make changes.

Oh yeah... And try to stay away from EV-Edit it only causes MORE 'bugs' as you call them... The more you use it, the bigger the chance grows, that your plug-in will get messed up. EV-Edit is ok, but buggy.. So try not to use it...
Shipwerks? Haven't seen that around the add-ons pages. Where is it so I can give it a try?
If you're using Shipwrite, make sure you open it after unchecking the 'safe' box or you can't save any changes. And yes, EV-Edit is buggy. Anything you do in there, make sure you check in ResEdit to be sure it's correct. It worked fine for EV plugs, but I don't think it was updated too completely for EVO.
No matter what editor you use, my recommendation is to always check the results in ResEdit. Just make sure you install the templates file onto the plug and grab the EV Bible.

I seem to be having the same problems with Shipwrite, and I am not checking the "read only" button. I don't get it!!

EV-Edit never worked fine. If it worked at all, it always felt like it was being held together by chicken wire, bubble-gum, and prayers. And then there were the times it would corrupt your plugin and crash the machine so hard you had to unplug it.
Ah, those were the days...
