Conjurer help

I'm using the version of Trinity that was included on Ambrosia CD #7. The only way I can get my conjurer to cast spells that need a target is to cast the spell from the spell menu, then hold "c" while I click on the target. The problem with this is that it takes away almost all of my spell points. I searched on the forums and have found no answer for this. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is it merely a bug? What's going on here?

You should be able to just click "c" once then click your target.
