Im making a plugin, what do you want in it?

I am going to make a huge plugin for EV override. I will make a new map, have completely new ships and outfits, and a whole lot of missions. I just want to know what other players want to see in the game. Hope to finish it soon, if I can 😉

Any ideas I have are going into plugs and therefore trade secrets :p. Seriously though, all software is begind schedule and takes longer than the developer thought and a TC is the hardest/longest kind of plug (I know). Good luck though, I'm sure people will contribute in a minute, they're just off replying to some other thread.

Diddly,

our enemies into powder, but gosh, we did that yesterday."

I want to see...well the stuff I am currently putting into my own plugin. I will give you one piece of advice though:
The Developer's Board is not the place to ask for ideas, try the EVO board for an EVO plug-in, the developer's are using their own ideas and will normally not disclose them. I did in my other post but I am assuming that noone will steal the ideas due to the honor system.

Actually here is another piece of advice I got from someone else:
Go with what you would want in a plug-in it normally produces the best results.

I like a twisty plot with lots of different types of missions. Avoid getting into long strings of "kill everyone" type things. Do escort missions, disable and board, blockade run against a fleet that you couldn't possibly take on, etc.

I hope you've made plugs before...

PS: feel free to ask around my unofficial webboard. The link is in my sig.

What I would like to see in your plug is graphics that don't suck. For me, if a plug has crappy graphics I won't play it.

I agree, do you really have any ideas for this plug?

Total conversions take up a lot of time and patience: just a warning. Also, yes, excellent graphics will help sell your plug-in (in the figurative sense, heh), but you need to back those up with some good, immersive storylines, and, just put your own ideas in it. Some people won't like your ideas, but don't worry about that, they just won't play it. Other people will like it, and they will play it. Good luck, and stick with it (especially since you've already told a bunch of people what you're planning to do).

I think you need just one really good idea for a TC. The rest is just hard work. If your original idea is good (and big enough) all the others will flow from it.
However, if your 'good idea' is just 'to do a TC', then you'd probably be better off starting on something smaller. There's no telling what ideas will flow once you have.
