Here's a quick question. I linked all of the objects and on my ship together and grouped them so that the ship is movable/resizeable etc. My question is if there is some way to duplicate the whole ship?
Also, is there a way to take one ship from one file and paste it into another? (like cut and paste)
I'm trying to make a battle scene and I need to do these things to do it, so any suggestions will help

Oooo battle scenes with Strata! If you get lots of ships in there expect a really, really, slow working environment (how I long for dual 533's...) Anyways, there are actually a few ways to do this... Under Edit there should be a menu called: "Duplicate" and "Replicate" either will do the trick, but replicate brings up a dialog box for you to use. OR you can select your model, hold down the option key and drag on of the little diamonds. That should create a duplicate. (I'm assuming your not using StrataVision. If you are the drag method should work, but they are boxes with crosshairs in them instead of diamonds.)
Oh yeah, pressing Command-D when your model is selected should duplicate it as well...

Listen to the man.
I'm not sure about StrataVision, but you can copy/paste between two open documents in Strata 3d.

Okay... well I did the duplicate thing but only one of the objects on the ship duplicates instead of the whole thing. Any idea why?
And I am using Strata 3D

Same with the Cut/Paste, replicate, ctrl-D, and the drag thing :
So any other advice?
Until then I'll keep trying

If you can select it individually then the whole model is not grouped together. I would recommend going Command-A (Select All), Command-G (Group) and then trying to duplicate the ship again. If not you can send me the model and I'll make a duplicate for you.
Another way to do it is to save the file as "different name here" (File>Save As) and then File>Import that file. That works and you'll get everything. I'm 100% sure of that method.
Okay, well I press select all and that only that object is selected (is that because they are all linked?)
Nevermind, I fixed it the problem was that they were linked and it thought that the last object was all the others (cause they were linked) So even when it was grouped it still only duplicated that object. So I unlinked everything, selected all, and grouped like you said. AND IT WORKED Thanks for the advice Metzen
Be careful with the duplicating thing though. I was making turrets for a ship in my in-development plug by using a perfect sphere and two identical cylinders (all primitives). I made my turret, grouped it and then tried to duplicate it. My computer completely froze, so I was forced to make each individual turret. Why my computer froze every time I tried to duplicate the object group, I have no idea.
