They measure how good or how bad of a person you are. The higher, the better. Moderators can lower or raise your karma at will.

That they can. P.S. Dreadnought not to be mean but please read the web board guidelines. It talks about the karma and what you do and what you shouldn't do. This karma topics are getting old. Yes I know I have posted topics about karma so don't say that after I post this. By the way I think this should be moved to Just Chat.
