Hi, I'd really like to make all those kind of cool pictures and stuff you can make with Bryce but it costs so much! Before I buy it I need to know about. I mean like is making cool scenes easy with Bryce and does it come with textures or do you have to make those too? (I am OK with 3D editors but I am no good at making textures or freehand art)
Thanx PS: Get out the (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum23/HTML/000408.html")vote(/url)

making scenes is pretty easy with bryce... and it comes with many many textures... that you can even edit to make look different. although not the best rendering engine... although if you just want to make simple scenes and such, i recommend it.

Can I make those kind of scenes with Bryce and then render it with my 3D editor, Strata 3D?
In theory it's possible, but it's probablly more trouble then it's worth.

well, i think if you want to do 3d modeling, bryce is a great place to start. the 160 or 140 doller prices you can get someplaces are very good for what you are getting.
if you get bryce 4 the things included are:
the best gui of all the 3d apps out there.
easy textureing, but a crappy texture editor.
very good terrain modeler
boolean grouping.
animation : you can make paths for objects or groups to follow, you can change an object's texture over time, or any aspect of your scene for that matter, etc.
help from me

I totaly dissagree, with the things people have said about Bryce's rendering engine. Admitedly, at first glance, the matierials console is a little daunting, but after giving it a little time, you'll be serprised at what you can turn out.
I direct you to my web site... (url="http://"http://www.ped.org.uk")www.ped.org.uk(/url)
...down the right-hand side of the page is a bar of four images, the top one is a very small crop of an image rendered in bryce (a non-landscape image I might add). I'm affraid that it's the only example of my bryce work that I have to hand. Though if someone tells me how to post images I'll be more than happy to put some up somewhere.
What is the best way of posting images by the way?

Here is a piece of Bryce artwork it did with the Bryce 4 demo (I've also posted this on the EV Image Gallery as well).

It's pretty simple. Just a little island scene with a few spaceport towers. My brother Nova6 also made a PICT with Bryce 4 demo. Here it is:

It's also pretty simple.

Thanks for all your guy's help, those pictures are really cool.
Posted by Captain Carnotaur: It's also pretty simple.
Like by pretty simple, how long did it take you to make that island thing?
Hmmmmm... A day (or maybe two, I'm not sure). I couldn't save it, so I had to take screenshots. I had to work on it a lot before I got it just right.

This one took me a week or two, total time. Spread out over several years, though. And all the textures are, at most, simple modifications of those that came with Bryce.

Dr Tall, if you havn't already seen it, go look at the "what you CAN do with Bryce string..."
I'm declairing a Q&A; open season on Bryce, if you're interested. There's also links to stuff I've produced in Bryce to be used as a starting point for discusion.
Hope to hear from you.
