I got this one plug-in Idea for EVO. It takes place 7 years after the Elmaga/UE Allience, And the final battle for the destruction of the Vionins (I Know I mispelled that word so DONT COMMENT!) is in place. The Vionins arnt holding on very good, and just as it seems that you are going to win, something very bizzare happens. The Vionins activate a weapon a genious Vionin desigined. All of a sudden the EV universe, the Star Wars universe, and the Babalyon 5 universe all of a sudden appear, right on top of the E universe! (The gain the voinins would have would be to reconfigure their forces before they would be destroyed.) So how do ya like it? If you think it is a good idea, I may need some help making it.

It's an interesting idea, but I'm sorry to say that it sounds, well, awfully cheesy.
When you're looking to make a plugin, it's generally best to keep away from concepts like this, and work on something that is totally your own. There are lots of possibilities to explore, in the EVO universe and beyond.
It also sounds to me that you're short on the experience. I reccomend you make a few small plugins, and get the feel of the guts of the engine before you try something ambitious. No one can make a Frozen Heart on their first try.

Yeah. Keep away from Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5, etc, etc. Try something completely, totally unique. It gets boring after the 10th or so Star Trek, Star Wars, etc plug.

Well the only reason I posted it up is because other people in other places said it was a good idea and they would download it if it took hours, they were probibly lieing. :frown: As for a small plug-in, I could add a station someware, probibly in the void between UE and Miranu space. Then I could add all of the weapons avalible and a new junk to be avaliable there. Sound Good, or corny?

Yeah, that sounds quite good, although I;d leave out all the weapons, becuase then it just turns into a cheater plug...
A serious problem you would encounter would be the lack of resources for all the weapons etc.

bbatch: I have been thinking about a 'UE Continuation' plug for some time, but I've never really got round to doing it. It would be kind of like 'Reign of the Voinians (and II)' but with UE. You finish off the Voinians, and perhaps you could make a sequence where UE fight crescent forces (although, this has been done, very well, in Beyond The Crescent, and maybe it wouldn't be so good a second time). I would help anyone with that plug, after I've done my current project. ~Gav

The only reason I didnt make one like that is it would only take a day and never get noticed. I would rather make a large plug that would get a huge response.

True. But I think it might be some nice comic relief to have some distant system population by Star Wars freaks or Star Trek freaks and they fly around in X-wings or Enterprises or stuff. Not essential to the plot, not part of any of the Star Wars, Star Trek or Babylon 5 universes, just a system or two where sci-fi freak made their own X-wings, Babylon 5s and so on. Just a little interstellar joke.

All he'd have to do is set the tech level to 1000 or something, and that'd cover everything. Of course, all weapons would be available there too, in that case...

i think by resources he meant that where would they claim to get all the stuff they need to make the weapons??? if it wasn't "believable" it wouldn't work... or maybe it would, but it would basically be a cheater. :mad:
me, i'm working on a plug (long time till its out) that will kinda blend a little evo, a little ev, a little empire, and a lot of originality, called Turbulent Galaxy. it's gonna be pretty much tc (by pretty much i mean that all the systems might be in the same place... :p) but this is probably not the place to announce it, especially since its gonna be at least a year to a year and a half till it's out.... anyhoo :rolleyes:

I think a multiple universe idea holds some promise, but using Star Wars and all for the alternate universes really is cheesy. You'd end up either copying other peoples' work, which is a rip off from the series anyway.
What about the Voinians plop three or four alternate universes, but each universe is a different extension from the current EVO universe. In one, the Voinians are just at the cusp of victory over the smashed human fleet, while in another the war has gone to apocolyptic levels, and each race is barely clinging to life. Then, you could tie in some physics babble about having to select which universe will be the true universe, then closing down the other universes with powerful explosions or creating paradoxes. I think as long as you stay away from using other television or movie series, you can have a lot of fun with multiple universes.
Yeah, thats a good idea, but I dont know to make or delete certin stellars or systems in the middle of a game.
