attn: mburch; seenIntroScreen flag

M-

While messing around with pilot files, I manually reset the seenIntroFlag (resType "OpiL", resID 129, I forget the offset.) to 0, but when the pilot file is loaded into EVO, it behaves as though the seenIntroScreen is set to 1.

Does the EVO engine assume that if you are loading a pilot file, you've seen the intro screen...regardless of the boolean state of the seenIntroFlag?

If this is so--and this probably belongs on the EVN board--can this behavior be changed in EVN? I suggest this because providing an altered pilot file along with a plugin would be very cool, but if the intro text doesn't scroll past when you enter the game, it is far less cool.

I have one modification to your suggestion: Allow the pilot resource data to be loaded into a plug-in, and then used as the default pilot for when you create a new pilot with that plug in the plug-ins folder.

While this is a good idea, it may not be practicle. If mburch continues to use the same encryption scheme from EVC and EVO, straight-forward editing of pilot data is not possible using ResEdit. Also, the pilot file has lots of data, more than can be covered by a resEdit template.
