the only way i can think of to counter the monty w/o changing the ai is somewhat troublesome. create wëap resources for every weapon to be used by ai ships, then create distinct ones for each weapon to be used by the player (i.e. two copies of the ones used by both). increase the range of all ai weapons (or at least the guns. you'll have to experiment to find out how much), but don't change that of the player weapons. the player will then have to come within the ai's turret range in order to perform the monty, and will be shot while doing so

Nighthawks idea sounds good, but it might only work for primary weapons.

monty python is where you do what they do in "the holy grail": run away! run away! you get the enemy ship to follow you quite close and you use your lazer to hit theyre ship. NOtice that your lazers are spread out and hit theyre ship and theyre lazers are compacted and close together, and are unable to hit you. That is the Monty Python ;).

Ahh, makes sense. Though I personally perfer strafing nice big ship with a fighter and autopilot. In a Star Wars plug, I took out an SD with an E-Wing. It's great fun.
