I am writing a resource editor for OS X and was wondering if any of you guys wanted to write (or assist me in writing) a plug-in for it to allow EV/O/3 resources to be edited graphically. A new version will be posed in the next few days, but the current version isn't worth the download - - has too many bugs.
If you really want, I'd recomend downloading version 0.1d8 from the 'older versions' page.
Please reply to this board and not email me directly, I get over 1000 emails a week and find it hard to read them all.

Just out of interest, is it a Carbon App or a Cocoa App?

It's a Carbon app, so it runs on regular MacOS too (with CarbonLib 1.1). BTW: it's now up (shhhhh..... don't tell everyone)
does OS X even have resource forks?

The answer to that question lies somewhere between yes, and no. (Helpful, huh? :)) It does have resources, however.

There are resources, but they have been moved to the Data Fork.

Not even that is correct, they can be moved to the data fork, but don't have to, unless you are using a bundle an want your resource file to be opened automatically. EV3's resources are currently in the Resource fork, and as such the app will have no problems being run off an HFS+ or NFS system under OS X.

SO COMPLICATED!!!
It's not that complicated, you'll figure it out once all those "introductions to MacOS X" appear in magazines.
BUT I WANT TO UNDERSTAND IT NOW!!!!

*Notes one should right-click or control click on a file in Mac OS X and select "Open Package Contents" - for OS X apps.

That doesn't let you read the resource files thugh! Just see that they're there. If you want to read the file you either have to copy it to the resource fork of another file with HexEdit or wait until I pass (or fail) my degree and release ResKnife 1.0
