Unhappy with Strata's modelling? Earlier versions of Pixels have provided a good modelling companion. This upgrade version has just become available as a free download.

As with earlier versions, there is then the slightly annoying process of loading it, writing down your machine ID and then registering the software on line.
Hurry, because Pixels have a tendency to withdraw their offers after a few weeks (magazines have been caught out in this way).

I prefer Strata3D over Pixels. I was going through one of the tutorials they have, and I followed the directions exactly. It didn't work. So I tried again. This time it worked. I tried again to make sure, and it didn't work. Then I tried again, and it crashed.

Well, as you all know, I like Strata. But Pixels has much better modelling capabilities. I agree that it is irritating, counter-intuitive, and a little on the hungry side.
But at the price you pay for it (nothing) I would say it has to be a bargain.
PS, the download is less than 3MB.

Download size doesn't matter much to me, although I've only got a 56k, I can hust leave stuff over night.

You can get Strata from (url="http://"http://www.strata3d.com")www.strata3d.com(/url) It is a rather large download. Pixels (in case you didn't bother to read the beginning of the post) is available at (url="http://"http://www.pixels3d.com")www.pixels3d.com(/url) I have heard nothing of Mechanisto 3.0 I doubt very much that anyone has. As far as I know, the creator of Mechanisto dropped off the face of the earth about three years ago and hasn't been heard from since.
