R & R software do a series of excellent programmes. I think they've got a ship creation tool (code, not graphics) and a mission editor. I haven't got a link, but they post quite a lot on the site.

Hi Zarquon
Frozen Heart is only accidentally a TC -- but then, it was the first TC for EV or EVO that wasn't based on someone else's pre-existing universe (which doesn't take anything away from Star Wars ANA, Babylon 5 etc).
As it happens the similarity as far as war situation and the systems is coincidental. I wrote the novel (which you can all download now from the add-ons page) in 1988, long before EV came out. I already had the Rigellian-Magellan-Democrat-Nonaligned thing in the plot, along with all the Rigellian and Magellan buffer systems.
The system similarity is because of astronomy -- in fact, many of the systems have different positions from in EV because their 'real' position (in as much as you can do this in 2D) was wrong. Almost all of the made-up systems in EV have been replaced by real systems.
You're right, though, some bits and pieces are still there. Riga is one, and so is the position of Spica, and the positioning of the no-spob systems. So are most of the sounds and a couple of the graphics. Frozen Heart 2, which currently only exists on my computer, replaces a lot more.
I'm also much more pleased that you enjoyed the game than when people say 'hey, wow, amazing, a TC' -- I'm still a definite sceptic on the general benefits of TC-fever.
BTW, Zarquon, you had some amazing ships on your website a year or so ago. Are you still cooking a plugin, or has it been published? I want to play it.

I have done a TC, primarily because I added so much, I just completly re-did the Data files&Graphics; files. I have the bad habbit of making multi-file plug-ins that will severly mess up piliot files. So I rebuilt the datafiles. Because I changed so much in the EVO univirse (Like EVERTHING).
And your TC is called?
