A Question for Photoshop Users

I need to know what are the default plug-ins for Photoshop 5.x.

It concerns a long overdue guide I was producing on how to make planets, and I need to know whether or not the plugs I refer to are in everyones copy:
**

Ocean Ripple
Spatter
Sphere
Film Grain
Diffuse Glow
Glass
**
as well as: 'Outer Glow' in the Effects menu

(If anyone is reading this who I promised to send this guide/method to, and is saying "Q-Czar's full of sh....", sorry :frown:. I haven't forgotten and it is on its way. I just got kinda carried away.)

Tschüs 🙂

Yes, those are all Photoshop default plug-ins.If you have the third-party plug-ins you can achieve more interesting effects in making planets (something like KPT 3.0). I'd recomend the Indiny-D for making realistic planets, though.

I agree, 3-D programs are probably better for making planets but for landing pics a mixture of 3d programs and Phoitoshop can produce good results from what I've seen.

I'm not sure if I have Spatter...I have PShop 5.5

BTW it's Spherize, not Sphere.

as far as I know (i'm not a graphics designer), bryce is better for landing pics.

For pure terrains, the free/shareware program, Terragen, is superb.

Alas, the author has stopped working on it indefinately, which stinks, but what can you do.

It doesn't handle anything but terrains. It is, however, MUCH easier to use than any other graphic program >I've< ever used. You can generate a reasonable landscape in minutes.

You can do that in Bryce, too.

Lunar Cell and Solar Cell are definite must-have plugins -- and both have a free two week trial period.

For those who are questioning whether or not a planet made in Photoshop, using default plugs, (url="http://"http://www.crosswinds.net/~qczar/Mars.gif")take a look at this pic of Mars(/url)( take in mind, this is a GIF image ).

If it sucks, then okay. I'll concede that I may have to use other apps. But I don't think it does.

As for why I'm not using 3rd-party plugs, that's beyond the point. The guide/method(whenever it's done) is designed to provide anyone with the ability to make them, without having to include extra software.

I am aware that there are cases where you absolutely have to use 3D apps, and have included that in the guide.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Tschüs 🙂

(BTW, does anyone know where I could get a Bryce demo/trial?)

Captain Orne , I assure you, I've tried all of the high-end shareware/freeware/evaluation sites, and, they either don't have it or they link me to the long defunct (url="http://"ftp://ftp.metacreations.com")ftp.metacreations.com(/url), which no longer exists.

I was hoping to find it at a less well-known locale, but apparently the demo has vanished completely from the net.

Thanks anyway.

Danny , thanks.
