I am working on a couple plugs, and in the wëap resource there is a field called ammotype. for the weapons i am making with ammo, what # do i put in there?

OK, say your wap id is 129 you'd set the AmmoType to 1, and if your wap id is 131 you'd set the AmmoType to 3. The AmmoType is 128+?= the wap id.

Speaking of ammotype, has ANYONE gotten multiple weapons using the same ammunition to work, and if so, can I see the plug?

i'm pretty sure it works (either one can independently deplete the ammo supply, but i haven't taken the time to make one of them a secondary to see if they deplete the same ammo supply). my next test (ammo's not the goal of the tests, they're all steps on the way to my upcoming tc) will have all of the planned weapons, which includes two secondaries for one ammo type. if it works i might leak an early alpha to those who are interested, just to show that it works. side thought: the human chronicles i: the first steps from earth is looking like this so far: map: 75% complete, spöbs: 5%, plot: 25%, plot implimented: 5%, ships/outfits: 88%, s/o implimented: 45%, graphics/sounds: 0%

The bible says that it's possible, but I'm pretty sure that it isn't. I hope I'm wrong, but I remember hearing more than one developer grumble about never getting this to work. If you get it to, I'd love to see the plug.

Apparently it doesn't work because ammunition outfits have to point to a specific weapon - however, in EV) 1.0.2, it's concievable that it would work.

I tried it a while back, and if I remembe correctly, as long as you had only one type of ammo on board, it worked fine. If you had two types, both loadouts would be zeroed. Or maybe only one was hosed.
Oh so its just ID-index. thanks. i thought it would be confusing
i know it doesn't drop the ammo, but it might provide each weapon with that amount of ammo (i.e. you buy 70 autocannon rounds and it gives you 70 shots from your autocannon and 70 shots from your ac turret, instead of 70 between the two of them). like i said, when i finish all the filler stuff and feel i'm ready to make another test plug, i'll try out the light rockets (turreted and not, both secondaries so you can see the ammo in realtime) and let you all know what happens
Thanks for the info, guys. Looks like I'll have to make some tests before proceeding with my plugin... although maybe it'll work in EV3.
I had built projectile weapons around the idea that most used a standardized round, with a few exceptions and standardization battles.
Going to have to reconsider that...
