Help! I was looking for some Mac hex editors in the internet for hours (slightly exaggerated... ), and I couldn't find a single one! Does perhaps somebody out there know any good HEX editors (I need only ONE, but...), and where to get them? I'd be very thankful.

I didn't think ResEdit was a Hex Editor.....

ResEdit will only work on the resource fork. Hex Editors work on the whole file. If you happen to have Norton Utilities, they have a feature called Disk Editor that will work as a Hex Editor. I'm not sure whether the newer versions have it still or not, but it was definately there in 2.0. (yet another sign that I work with old stuff... I even have a copy of version 1.0 lying around somewhere...)

Fine, then look for BrainHex at download.com.
There is an extension for ResEdit to allow it to work on data forks too. Caller 'forker' I think, I had v1.3 butthere may be newer. It added a fake resource to a resource file called <data> and opening that gave you access to data fork of the file. Great for sucking PICT files into PICT resources. I have it archived on a CD according to my catalog file...
Cheers Ralph
PS I GeneralEdit Lite better for data hex editing and old versions of Nortons Disk Edit don't work on HFS+ disks.
I think Resourcerer can edit the Data part of the file as well, the resources called data is there anyway......
