A little birdie named Hector told me that there's some new screenshots/movies for EV3 up at:
...and also there's a progress log for EV3 (as yet empty, but something to keep track of and watch) up at:
While you're there, check out the screenshots of Ragnarok, too:

By the way, when the time is appropriate, we will be posting some of the technical details of the new engine so you plugin developers can have early notice and get up to speed.
Suffice it to say that you'll have a host of new capabilities to tinker with.

VERY, VERY nice of you Andrew
Okay, has anyone actually looked at this other than me? I'm guessing I was probably one of the first, due to my odd sleeping habits (work till 5:00 am, sleep till noon), but I was expecting this huge outpouring of discussion. Andrew has dropped a few more breadcrumbs on the ground, and we're just staring at them indifferently? Okay... don't be pitiful guys
Escape Velocity 3
In addition to the slew of development currently underway at Ambrosia, the company today released further information regarding Escape Velocity 3. The highly anticipated sequel will feature 32-bit graphics as well as QuickTime movies, and will build on the success of previous versions of Escape Velocity with a "huge" universe to explore and several immersive story lines.
While no date has been set for the release of Escape Velocity 3 and beta testing has yet to begin, Spees mentioned that the title should be released before the end of the year.
Check that last line. Hmmmm... if this is true, I'm going to hold off on that TC plugin I was talking about to avoid duplicating any effort. I'll model the ships now and work on the story line when EV3 is released. (OF course modeling over a hundred ships will take a few months with the amount of free time I had, so it's really not as though I would've released the plugin next month or anything.)
My signature is short and unobtrusive. I don't have a long sig to overcompansate for "ego" problems.
